This is one of the fellows your mother warned you about. With a handsome face, a creative mind and a complete lack of morals, Kevin Trudeau has swindled thousands of readers and TV viewers out of millions of dollars. The government has been trying to put a stop to his fraudulent books, products and marketing methods for years, but he's still producing, and raking in healthy profits.
Kevin Mark Trudeau, the adopted son of Robert and Mary Trudeau, was born on February 6, 1963. He grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts where he attended St. Mary's High School.
In 1990, he posed as a doctor and deposited $80,000 in bogus cheques in a bank. In 1991, he sold eleven customers a product to enhance their memory. Then he fraudulently used their credit cards to charge over $120,000 in merchandise. He spent two years in prison for his second foray into the world of deception and theft.
While in jail, Trudeau met Jules Leib, a former cocaine dealer. Upon release, they joined a multilevel marketing company, Nutrition for Life, and together, began to operate an illegal pyramid scheme. They were sued by the state of Illinois and seven other states and were required to pay $185,000. The company had to paid over $2 million dollars to shareholders and warrant holders for the fraudulent scheme.
Trudeau then began producing and appearing in infomercials which played on late-night television. He promoted a number of products, and believe it or not, after every show, the station was flooded with orders. As P.T. Barnum observed, "There's a sucker born every minute".
He claimed to have a hair farming system that would end baldness forever. He said he had achieved a scientific breakthrough which would cure any addiction in sixty seconds. He claimed that there are twelve known cures for cancer, but they are being kept secret by pharmaceutical companies, the Federal Drug Administration, (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
In 2004, Trudeau agreed to pay a $2 million settlement to the FTC, for falsely claiming that coral calcium could cure cancer and that a supposed analgesic called Biotape could eliminate severe pain. He also agreed to a lifetime ban on selling products by infomercials. However, he was still allowed, through his rights under the First Amendment, to promote his books through that medium.
He then began writing books : "Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About" (2005), "The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You to Know About", (2007), "Debt Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About" (2008). The books have sold well. "Natural Cures..." has sold more than 5 million copies.
None of these volumes are worth the price of the paper they're written on. The health and weight loss books give false and misleading information. The suggestions offered in the debt cure book are easily obtained for free on the Internet.
Kevin Trudeau is a wealthy man, in spite of having been sued by various government entities throughout the years. The fact is that he pays large sums as penalties, but never admits to any wrongdoing. That way, he can boast that it has never been proven that he has misled anyone.
The profits he has made from sham sales far outweigh the amount of the settlements he has paid to date. To him, the penalties are just the cost of doing business. In fact, he can turn them to his advantage by telling potential customers that the huge fines are proof that the government is out to get him, because he has secrets they don't want revealed.
To this day, the saga continues. On November 4, 2008, Federal Judge Robert W. Gettleman ordered Trudeau to pay $37, 616, 161, the amount consumers paid in response to a deceptive infomercial about his weight loss cure. He also revised the three-year ban on infomercials promoting products, but he's allowed to present his books.
Kevin has recently released his new book, "Recession Cure: Get Rich in Tough Times". (2009). He's doing an infomercial to promote it. Also this year, he's started his own radio show. As another big bad wolf once observed, "...all the better to fool you with, my dears".
Be informed, be aware, be alert. When you see, hear, or sense his presence anywhere in your immediate environment, leave the premises, turn off the radio or switch TV channels. Don't give him a chance to exercise his considerable sales ability on you. It will protect you from being scammed, it will save you a lot of money, and last but not least, your mother will be very proud of you.

Another charlatan! Get the word out! I can only hope that the current economic times force people to consider dearly the price they may pay for misrepresentation and greed.

I just placed an order. i just called the number back to cancel it. they said to call costumer service and i asked okay will they cancel it? they said im not sure. im going to call costumer service immediately first thing tomorrow. they better cancel it!! i seriously need to stop watching informercials! i fall for those "risk free" ones all the time! >:[Why bother calling infomercials to buy things if you're just going to cancel your order the next day??? Just don't call in the first place!!! That way, you'll save yourself a lot of time and effort!!!
Your review is helpful in warning individuals to not believe everything that tv personalities say; however, after throwing so many darts at Kevin Trudeau, why not attack The FDA; Nutrasweet, genetic engineered food, Countless problems from Pharmaceuticals, I am a RN and I have seen what happens to trusting individuals who take medical advise without educating themselves and it is not a future of health. Kevin Trudeau is not the first person to speak of cancer cures, cure for arthritis, diabetes, I don't know what he says, but I know there are healthy solutions much of the time to these diseases (Documentary: The Beautiful Truth; Prikin diet, etc. )Our Health in the United States is totally compromised by the FDA and excessive levels of toxins that are not allowed in Europe. It is true that the Pharmaceuticals companies must alter a natural substance before they can patient them and with one alteration there are countless chemical interactions, therefore side effects known and unknown;(common sense) so with that knowledge what do you think of GMO(genetic mutated organisms) that are not required to be labeled, and affect our own DNA and may greatly affect our children; CORN,COTTON,SOY,CANOLA' are currently the biggest crops and they are patented. It used to be common knowledge that man could not create life, therefor could not patent life forms, however that changed in the mid 90's. So now we have companies like Monsanto (weed killer, Roundup) who engineered pesticides into the corn, etc. What is really scary is that if you have a field of natural corn that your family has been growing for 100 years and Monsanto decides to spill some of their grain on the road beside your farm and the wind blows it onto your field,pollinates your corn, it now belongs to Monsanto. You cannot sue for the contamination,because it was due to an act of god(the wind) and you have to pay Monsanto, This already happened after going to the Canadian Supreme Court. They can own the food supply with GMO's, because now we cannot get them out of our environment. That is why Nebraska banned all Industrial farms, only family farms are allowed. Federal government tried to mandate and lost;AND that is why educated individual pay more money for organic, that is the only label that forbids alteration, that extra cost is what you have to pay to have food the way it was for your grandparents. Actually these pesticides, and the pesticide gene they are putting in our food crops, was developed after WW2 and the use of nerve gas. So I am thankful to Kevin Trudeau, even if he does sell snake oil sometimes, He is an amateur compared to the snake oil we are buying from the FDA and our own government and if he puts just a little fear or mistrust into the general public about this situation, service out weights disservice. It takes alot to wake up an obese,chemically altered population.
THERE IS A SPECIAL HELL FOR CON MEN LIKE KEVEN TRUDEAU, WHO, THROUGH LIES AND MISREPRESENTATIONS PROFIT OFF THE SICK AND DYING.

You obviously have something to lose if your sticking up for the FTC, FDA and corporate greed. Kevin Trudeau has done way more good for people (natural cures, debt cures) than you want to believe. I'm proof of that. Don't be a hater. Learn to help society not deter society from a better life. Your comments are the same as the other writers who oppose him. The more a person or a group want to expose the real truth to society the more they get attacked. Your a perfect example of this attack. the government and corporate america control the media, so yes they will have negative attackes on him and have many people, such as yourself speak negatively about him.

I am not a spokesperson for him nor am I getting paid to say what I believe 100% in.People who believe the government versus people like Kevin Trudeau should listen again to ads on TV that promise one small improvement but list a catalog of very bad and detrimental side effects that are far worse than the original ailment was. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to see what the government does to hide things they cant make money on and would go against the FDA and Drug companies. I am where I am needing an income due to my beong laid off 2 wks ago. I just happened to see Kevins infomercial this morning while lob searching and have NEVER seen anything by him. Have you done anything out of the book and if so how was your outcome? My family is having to seperate to different due to jobs and I want to be able to afford one home in one place and get our lives back on track. Thanks for any info.

All the things Kevin was accused of NOT working or curing diseases are now coming to light... There have been quite a few instances so far that he was right all along. Kevin has been exposing the Government for creating industries through their own lies and deception. Kevin Trudeau is my American hero...
Show me ONE person he has ever swindled, you claim thousands, find ONE. No one has ever, EVER, shown me one person...
kevin may be motivated by greed but he has also helped alot of people.save your money ,buy the books at garage sales.
